Nuit Blanche 2025
Nuit Blanche is an art festival scattered throughout Toronto, running from 7 PM to 7 AM. Almost no one in our club had been to the festival before, including me. We visited four locations, and I’ll tell you a little about each one now:
The first was near St. Lawrence Market, in a hangar that reminded me of the a toolbox. There was a man painting mandalas to music that sounded like something out of a Kubrick film or a Star Wars battle scene. Above was a small installation, which I can’t say I understood it, to be honest, but it looked cool. Then we went looking for the second location — an immersive projection of a drop of water from Lake Ontario. We couldn’t find the entrance, so we accidentally ended up in the underground PATH shopping mall. It was deserted, but the lights were on: an amazing experience. From there, we exited through an office building, where one of our executives asked for directions, and only thanks to that did we find our way to the right place. I liked this installation the most. It had a great vibe, and the music was pleasant. Then we took the metro to a third location, which had an exhibition of female artists (the knitwear and paintings are from there), but it was so hot that we quickly ran away to Chinatown. Because we were waiting for one of the participants, who stayed on the other side of the road, three others and I got lost, but luckily found the address and we found our way to the right stop.
In summary: I liked the idea of this festival, but the festival was difficult to go around, everything is scattered and from the website it is difficult to find the ways… But I had a good time.
